For this function, you will need Student Success administrator permissions.
Once you've created your student success badge, you can add skills and create simple grading guides (rubrics) to evaluate them.
Why use rubrics? They help:
- Make it clear to students what good work looks like
- Show students exactly what they need to do to succeed
- Let teachers give better, more specific feedback
Setting Up a Rubric
Each skill in your badge can have its own rubric. Here's how to set it up:
- Click on a skill
- Scroll down to find the "Rubric Level" section
- Click "add level"
- Pick how you want to create your rubric:
- a. Write your own custom levels and descriptions
- b. Choose an existing rubric level
Choosing Rubric Levels
When you create a rubric level, it automatically saves and becomes a preset level you can use for other skill rubrics. This helps save time when creating rubrics across different skills and badges.
Tip: Write out your rubric descriptions before adding them to Abre.
- You can add as many or as few levels as you need for each skill
- To finish setting up your rubric:
- Look for the "Rubric evaluation is required" checkbox
- Check this box if you want teachers to use the rubric when grading student work
Evaluating Artifacts with a Rubric
When a portfolio advisor reviews student work, they can use the rubric to grade it. They'll see a rubric section during the approval process where they can select how well the student mastered the skill.
Note : It is possible to approve an artifact without choosing a rubric level.
