An Overview of Student Success

Abre's Student Success Solution follows the framework defined by a "Portrait of a Graduate". We give you a clear, accurate picture of students’ progress toward achieving graduation readiness standards, over the course of their whole academic career.

The process involves:

1. Defining top-level competencies (badges)
2. Aligning skills to those badges
3. Students submitting artifacts of evidence towards those badges
4. Reviewing artifacts
5. Analyzing growth of students and the district at large

Basic Vocabulary and Structure

Terms:

• Badge: Top-level competency defined by the school
• Skills: Skills students demonstrate
• Portfolios: A group of artifacts
• Artifacts: Items a student shares that demonstrate growth towards a particular badge
• Staff Advisor: A staff member who reviews artifacts

Structure

Student Success consists of Badges. Badges contain skills that can be tied to standards and grade levels.

How do students show mastery of these badges and skills?

They create portfolios. Portfolios contain artifacts that demonstrate mastery.

Notifications available with Student Success

Abre provides real-time notifications for key events such as artifact submissions, reviews, approvals, and feedback, ensuring that all parties stay informed and engaged throughout the portfolio journey.

This system fosters a more responsive and collaborative educational environment, ultimately contributing to improved student success and advisor productivity.

Students and staff can receive the following notifications:

1. When an artifact is approved
2. When feedback is provided
3. When an artifact is waiting for approval
4. When an artifact is deleted
