How to Assign Portfolio Advisors

Abre has introduced a Portfolio Advisor feature, enhancing the portfolio review process for both students and educators. This guide will walk you through enabling and using this feature.

Enabling Portfolio Advisors

In order to use this feature, you must first enable it:

• Navigate to the People App
• Click on the ”Settings” tab
• Click “Manage Portfolio Settings” under the “Portfolio Settings” card
• Check “Enable Portfolio Advisors” to enable this feature
• Save your changes

For Students: Selecting Portfolio Advisors

Students can select Portfolio Advisors in two ways:

1. Through Student360

• Open Student360
• Scroll down to the “Portfolios” panel
• In the list of portfolios in this panel there is a column called “Portfolio Advisor(s)”
• Click the list in this column to bring up the Portfolio Advisor selection window
• Choose one or more advisors for the portfolio
• Save your selection

2. Through Individual Portfolios

• Open the desired portfolio from the student profile
• Look for “Portfolio Advisor(s)” in the Permissions panel at the top
• Click on this option to bring up the Portfolio Advisor selection window
• Choose one or more advisors for the portfolio
• Save your selection

For Staff Advisors: Aligning with a Student

The Staff Advisor is the individual responsible for reviewing submitted student artifacts. The intent is for every student to have an advisor or mentor that can guide them with feedback. Staff Advisors are currently the same as a Wellness Advisor and the matching happens in Student360.

There are two ways to align Staff Advisors to students:

1. Individual staff members have the ability to ‘Claim’ students within their Student360 profile by clicking the “Claim Student” button under the Wellness tab.
2. Wellness and System Administrators can align any student to a Staff Advisor by clicking the drop down and selecting the appropriate staff member(s) from the Staff Advisor menu
