Setting your school calendar is important as it aligns many Abre Apps with your current schedule.
Before you Begin
It is important to consider term codes before setting your calendar in Abre. For more information on term codes, please see this article. Check with your Student Information System (SIS) Administrator to determine your district’s term codes.
| IF | THEN |
| If a district term code matches Abre’s standard term codes (Year, Sem1, Sem2, Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, Tri1, Tri2, and Tri3)… | Then set the academic term following the steps below. |
| If a district term code does not match an Abre standard term code… | Then set the term code in the District Defined Term Codes section below the calendar. Do not select the corresponding academic term check box in the calendar section. |
You may have academic terms set in both the Calendar and the District Defined term codes section, however a unique term cannot appear in both (e.g. Quarters should be set in either The Calendar or the District Defined section never both).
Setting the First and Last Day of Your Academic Year
- From Abre's navigation bar select Settings
- Go to the "Calendar" tab
- Set the dates for your First Day of the Academic Year and the Last Day of the Academic Year
This is the date Abre will start displaying your first terms (Semester 1, Quarter 1, etc.) in the following locations:
- Staff seeing their Courses and students rostered to those courses in Abre.
- Student schedules on the Student Profile card within the Students App
- Courses and students rostered to those courses in the Class App (for customers with Class activated)
Once you have selected your Staff Return date and the First and Last Day of the Academic Year you can then set the specific start dates for the terms your district utilizes.
