Before the first day of school, some integrations have plenty of data to load and others have very little. For example, attendance and behavior files may contain only headers until your district starts recording absences or incidents. As such, you will see various integration statuses, warnings, and error codes.
This is normal! A quiet file can be expected at this point. This article can help you understand what your syncs may show before deciding something needs fixing.
Check your foundation first
Roster, staff, course, and schedule data establish the records other data connects to. Work with your Abre contact to confirm those integrations are ready before adding third-party data sources.
- Open the Integrations Center and select Integrations.
- Filter the category to Core.
- Confirm the integrations your district uses are configured and Active.
- Open the Files tab and confirm their recurring files are arriving.
- Check file names, sizes, and Last Modified times.
- Open each integration’s Sync History to review its latest result.
For a new setup, coordinate delivery with Support rather than using one-time uploads to test core files.
When an empty file can be expected
Before attendance or behavior records exist for the new school year, you may see File is empty or File only contains a header row. The status can vary, so read the message.
- Confirm the source system’s export is using the intended school year and date range.
- Check whether any records should exist yet.
- Confirm the export is still delivering on its expected schedule.
- Recheck after real records become available.
Once you expect records, a missing or header-only file deserves a closer look. Check the source export rather than assuming the status is still seasonal.
Give new setups time to run
Not Run or Never Ran immediately after enabling a configured integration can mean its scheduled run hasn’t happened yet.
- Check again the next morning.
- Review any integration that hasn’t succeeded.
- Continue checking daily for the rest of the week.
- Watch for delivery stopping or a previously successful file changing format.
Dashboards refresh once daily, early in the morning. Allow that refresh after data processing before checking reports.
Keep an eye on rollover changes
Warnings can become more common during school-year rollover, roughly May through July, when some syncs are paused. Use that timing as context, then check the actual export and run message.
Hundreds of unused integrations showing Never Ran are normal. Focus on the ones your district expects to use.
If records should be arriving and the checks above don’t explain the issue, email support@abre.com with the integration name, site ID, and a screenshot of Sync History. Authorization failures, unknown processing errors, and district or school matching errors should go to Support right away.
