TinyMCE is the editor that appears in many areas of Abre. When used to its full potential, it can really power excellent instruction and communication. This article covers how to use the features of the editor.
There are two configurations of the TinyMCE editor in Abre: The Common Editor and the Curriculum Editor.
The Common Editor
Many of the options in the Common Editor are familiar to folks. We want to focus on a few that can really help your readers.
Text Format
This defaults to "Paragraph but consider using Headers to break up your content. Headers break up content and make text easier to read on screen.
Links
We automatically turn copy/paste links into active hyperlinks. However, you do have the ability to use the link button.
Images
You can upload or link images. Please keep accessibility in mind and add descriptions to your images.
Media
Copy a YouTube URL or embed media from sites like Quizlet, Flipgrid, or Google Slides.
Google Drive
You can link files directly from your Google Drive.
Code
For those comfortable with HTML, you do have the ability to add limited HTML code.
The Curriculum Editor
The Curriculum Editor contains the same features with a few additional options.
Table of Contents
If you're writing a long lesson, it's nice to have a Table of Contents. The Table of Contents grabs headers from your lesson and makes it easy for your readers to navigate.
