How to generate, review, and publish Liveboards with AbreViz, and how to reconcile results with Vera or other dashboards.
Who can use AbreViz?
AbreViz is intended for authorized district administrators at districts with the required plan. Other users may be able to view a published Liveboard created with AbreViz, but they cannot necessarily generate one.
How do I describe the Liveboard I want?
Include:
- the purpose and audience
- the data topic or model
- the population and timeframe
- the key measures
- useful comparisons or thresholds
- desired tabs, charts, and filters
Example: "Create a district leadership Liveboard for chronic absenteeism this school year. Include a district trend, comparison by building and grade band, subgroup filters, and a student-detail tab. Keep student details off the overview tab."
Does AbreViz publish the board automatically?
No. AbreViz creates a draft. An authorized administrator must review and explicitly publish it. This prevents an unreviewed board from reaching an audience.
What should I review before publishing?
Confirm:
- the board answers the intended question
- measures and calculations are appropriate
- the timeframe and filters are correct
- chart types are easy to understand
- student-level detail appears only where needed
- the audience and sharing settings are appropriate
- every tab and chart has a clear label
Can I change an AbreViz-generated board?
Yes. Treat the generated board as a strong first draft. Adjust charts, labels, filters, tabs, and scope before publishing. If the board is not close to your goal, revise the prompt with clearer instructions and generate a better draft.
Does AbreViz replace a carefully designed dashboard?
No. AbreViz is useful for quickly creating a draft from a clear need. A complex official report with district-specific business rules may still require a manually designed dashboard or help from a data analyst.
Can AbreViz show data I am not allowed to see?
No. Data permissions still apply during generation, review, publication, and viewing. Publishing or sharing a board does not give recipients broader access than their roles allow.
What makes an AbreViz Liveboard ready to publish?
A ready-to-publish board is accurate for its purpose, understandable to the audience, limited to necessary information, tested with expected filters, and reviewed by the responsible administrator. If you would not confidently explain every chart in a meeting, keep it in draft.
Why might Vera show a different number than a dashboard?
The tools may be answering similar-sounding questions with different rules. A dashboard may use district-specific definitions, joins, filters, or assessment windows chosen when it was built. Vera responds to the words in your question and the available data model.
A difference usually means the population, timeframe, definition, or calculation is different—not automatically that the data is wrong.
Which result should I use: Vera or the dashboard?
Use an official dashboard when you need a number based on established district rules, such as an official chronic absenteeism count. Use Vera to explore a question quickly, identify patterns, and test follow-up questions.
For a high-stakes decision, confirm the definition and scope before acting.
How can I make Vera's result closer to an official dashboard?
Add the dashboard's known rules to your prompt: population, date range, exclusions, threshold, assessment window, and calculation. The results may become closer, but complex dashboards can still use logic that is difficult to reproduce exactly in one natural-language question.
What should I do if a difference seems important?
Save the exact question and gather:
- the Vera result or screenshot
- the dashboard or Liveboard name
- the metric being compared
- the filters and timeframe used
- what you expected to see
Share these details with your district's Abre administrator or Customer Success Manager so the two results can be compared.
