There are a few common reasons that you might not see students in the Students App.
No Students Appearing in the Students App
1. (Most Common): Incorrect/ Missing Information in the SIS
Abre syncs roster data with your Student Information System. If the information is wrong or missing in the SIS, it will reflect that inaccuracy in Abre.
Contact the department or individual who maintains your school's SIS. Ask them to verify that the student exists and is correctly rostered in the SIS.
Confirm that Staff Information is correct in the SIS
You may also be missing from or incorrectly listed in the SIS. If you are seeing no students, then the issue is most likely due to an error in your personal data in the SIS. The most common issue is missing staff emails or incorrect staff emails.
2. Delayed SIS Sync
Most SISs do not provide real-time syncs with Abre. Rather, they provide a nightly sync. It can take between 24 and 48 hours for the new information to appear in Abre.
This is most common with students who change class schedules during the day. The change will not appear in Abre until after the sync.
You could verify the student is correct in the SIS and then wait. Or wait 24 hours before raising the issue with the individual who maintains your SIS.
3. No Students Are Not Rostered to You
Some staff members (for example, special education teachers, specialists, etc.) may not have students rostered to them in the SIS. They will need to manually add those students via custom groups.
- Click on Student App
- Click on Plus Button
- Create a Group and give it a name.
- Add students by searching for their name, then adding them to the group by adding the plus button.
