Command Center for Data Integration
The Data Monitoring Center (DMC) is a tool within the Abre platform that allows district administrators and data managers to monitor and manage the data integration processes. It serves as a central command center for overseeing all data synchronization activities.
The DMC Includes:
-
A Comprehensive Monitoring Dashboard with up-to-date visibility into data integration status and sync processes
-
Advanced Sync Management with on-demand control of data synchronization including the ability to pause, resume, and manually trigger sync jobs as needed
-
Smart Error Reporting System with clear descriptions, and actionable solutions to quickly identify and resolve integration issues
Who Can Access the DMC?
System Administrators also have access to the DMC.
How to Monitor Data Integration & Sync Status
- Navigate to the Data Monitoring Center
- Locate the category
- Click the arrow next to the category name
- You can:
- View your sync
- Enable, disable run or cancel as needed
- View statuses and see details of any errors
How to Add a Sync
- Click the plus button in the lower right hand corner.
- Click the arrow next to the category name
- Check the sync you would like to add
- Click “Add”
- Once added, locate the sync and click the play button to manually run it
- Check back to ensure the sync ran successfully
Syncs pulling from external vendors/locations/services (like Illuminate FastBridge, NWEA MAP, iReady) require access credentials.
These credentials must be configured by Abre Support in the database before syncs can be enabled. Contact Abre Support (support@abre.com) to enable any syncs requiring external access credentials.
Understanding the Sequence
While the DMC provides real-time monitoring and management capabilities, it's important to understand how the timing of data synchronization works:
- Automated syncs run once every 24 hours by default
- Re-enabling a paused sync updates the status immediately, but doesn't trigger an automatic sync until the next scheduled run
- Manual sync requests can be initiated using the "Run Now" button. This will trigger a request and the job will enter a processing queue.
