March 2023 Update
The Abre Product team's mission is to continually enhance our platform based on feedback from our incredible user community. We are thrilled to share with your our March 2023 product updates.
See below for what's included in this month's release, and please let us know via feedback@abre.com your thoughts on our new enhancements.
Enhancements - March 2023
- Imported Grades - Clarifying In-Product Messaging
- Upon accessing the grades tab of the Student360, users associated with districts that import grades from 3rd party grade books into Abre will see updated in-product messaging providing guidance to users on proper next steps for who to contact regarding any errors or issues with the imported grades.
- On hover over the ‘i’ icon (information) - a message is rendered reading as follows:
- “Imported grades originate outside of the Abre Platform. Further information regarding imported grades should be directed towards your district or grade-book of record.”
- Enhancement is designed to alleviate questions regarding imported grades from immediately flowing to the Abre CX/CS team.
- S360 Grades Tab - Refactor Display for Weighted Category Grades
- Staff members with assigned Classes within Abre Class have historically had the ability to create activity categories and assign weighting to graded activities for increased control over overall grade calculations for students.
- Where activity weighting has been created within an Abre Class section, the Student360 grades tab for the associated class has been redesigned to expose the category weights and descriptions for all activities.
- Where categories have been defined, only activities aligned to a category will contribute to the calculation of the overall grade.
- Activities with no category will still show as typical in a ‘No Category’ area.
- Intent is to deliver more transparency of grading process to family members and staff members alike who are looking to provide more guidance to students on how to improve their grades or understand how different activity weighting by category can have significant impact on the overall student grade.
- Insights Category Report Counts
- Insight Administrators accessing the Abre Insight application will now see additional information for ‘report count’ rendered underneath the description for each Insight category.
- Based on the back-end database alignment of reports to a specific Abre instance (via site_id) a report ‘count’ number is displayed.
- This is a feature flagged optional setting controlled by the Product Team. By default, ‘report counts’ are shown within Abre Insights. Adding a record to the insights_settings table will allow control over exposing this setting if a district, or in the case of product.abre.io, report counts are not desired.
- NOTE: Product.Abre.Io will not have report counts exposed on the demo site. This is to avoid any confusion with potential clients on where Abre has internal gaps in our current catalog of available reports.
- The intent behind this feature set is to provide users with more detailed guidance around where their reports ‘live’ - for the vast majority of current Abre Insight users, there are between 1-5 categories on average that contain reports. For non-power users, finding a specific report from the Insights landing page could prove challenging, thus the report counts will provide a starting point for where a report might be stored.
- Combined Responses in Behavior Summary Report
- Behavior Administrators now have the ability to generate Summary Reports for behavior incidents with multiple responses compiled into a single report.
- Upon adding two or more responses to a single behavior incident, an additional button option will be rendered to generate a ‘Summary Report - All Responses’.
- The resulting PDF document follows the same format as single response Summary Reports but with the additional responses included.
- Behavior Administrators will retain the ability to generate individual Summary Reports for each response as well.
- Added support for IXL Assessment Data (Student360 Reports)
- New Student360 Visualizations are available for districts integrating IXL data with Abre. Primary and Secondary reports will be rendered for students where data is provided.
- Primary Report: Average Assessment Area Scaled Score Results
- Secondary Report: Overall Scores by Assessment Area and Administration Date
